Flying Solo

An impromptu visit from #1 son and son #2 still on a  graduation high ( checks keep coming in!) made this past weekend quite festive, despite triple digit heat! Today the younger goes to Boston to college orientation and the elder is back in OKC. OK.  So I am back to flying solo. 

Lunch with friends, a glass of champagne in the afternoon, no emergency grocery shopping for dinner- its a whole new world!

Duty Calls!

Right! Just as I feel as though my mothering skills are no longer needed DUTY CALLS! My niece with twin babies has broken her foot! So, I am off to wrangle babies. 

It begins with an ending, graduation.

My youngest dons the cap and gown of a graduate and walks across a stage. With a flip of a tassel he crosses the threshold of a life outside the nest. A happy occasion, of course but I know he is mentally ready for his new life at college. Am I ready? This summer will be MY weaning from my role as full time mom!
